Job Summary

Assist Engineering Professor Mihai Burzo with EGR 230 Statics classes during the Fall 2024 semester. The main task is to assist with the class assignments. You will help with the process of grading the assignments by giving your input to Professor Burzo. You will also give Professor Burzo feedback on how the assignments can be improved. You will also discuss, as needed, the the solution to the problems with the students enrolled in the class.

Responsibilities*
  • Assist faculty with course materials, logistics and communication, such as interacting with students online via email, video conferencing and within the Canvas course shell
  • Discuss homework problems, clarify concepts and descriptions of problems used in the assignments
  • Facilitate course skill development (e.g., writing, computation, critical thinking)
  • Work will be performed remotely with the employee's own computer and internet service.

Required Qualifications*
  • Must be a current of University of Michigan-Flint undergraduate student in good academic standing or recently graduated from a UM-Flint undergraduate program and not currently enrolled in a graduate program
  • Successful completion of EGR 230 Statics

Desired Qualifications*
  • Previous experience with Excel
  • Previous experience with Canvas
  • Good communication skills

Modes of Work

Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
