QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree; Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Alabama Teaching certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist in planning for effective implementation of curriculum to ensure that technology is used effectively to meet student needs in grade K-12.
  • Demonstrate on a regular basis the use of technology in the classroom to improve teacher and learning.
  • Provide sustained, in-depth professional development for staff that focuses on the integration of technology and curriculum.
  • Train and mentor teachers to develop and implement lesson plans that integrate standards from the Alabama Digital Literacy and Computer Science Course of Study into the district curriculum.
  • Encourage learning activities that take advantage of computer networking capabilities.
  • Monitor the use of instructional technology to ensure that resources and activities enhance rigorous academic content and the system's mission.
  • Make continuous improvements in key processes, techniques, and procedures related to the instructional technology program.
  • Provide frequent feedback to staff members and administrators regarding instructional technology.
  • Continually search for, evaluate, and implement use of new instructional resources including software, web sites, and distance learning opportunities.
  • Promote a positive, caring climate for learning.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
  • Participate in collaborative processes to develop school improvement plans and school technology plans.
  • Assist in orienting new staff.
  • Develop and continually improve professional skills appropriate to job assignment.
  • Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
  • Communicate effectively (in both verbal and written formats).
