Who May Apply: US Citizens and Non-Citizens with Allegiance to the United States.
This is a full-time Term appointment in the excepted service with an NTE date of 31 May 2028 and not to exceed 3 Years. Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement dental and vision. You will be eligible to earn annual leave and sick leave.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Applicants will be evaluated on the following factors:
1) Academic Accomplishment (Ph.D. is preferred or advanced ABD considered) in French/Francophone Language, Literature, and/or Culture, or Second Language Acquisition - French.
2) Native or near-native fluency in French and English.
3) Promise or evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level.
4) Demonstrated experience in teaching undergraduate education.

Duties
- Develop, design, direct and teach undergraduate introductory and intermediate language courses in French.
- Demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education and expertise in instructional technology.
- Provide academic counseling and mentorship to the undergraduate students (cadets) at the United States Military Academy.
- Lead and guide student research through independent studies and/or capstone projects.
- Participate in department-level service.
- Engage in scholarly research.
