The South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for an Instructor, Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer position in Industrial Engineering. This is a full-time, benefited, 9-month, non-tenure track faculty position with an anticipated start date of August 2024. Rank is dependent on qualifications and the record of the candidate.
Applicants with an earned doctorate in Industrial Engineering or a related field are preferred, but individuals with an M.S. degree and substantial experience will be considered. Candidates with specialties in all areas of Industrial Engineering are encouraged to apply. The Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management graduate and undergraduate programs at South Dakota Mines have an established reputation for outstanding teaching and instruction. The new faculty member will be expected to excel at teaching undergraduate and graduate courses including online-distance courses. Participation in advising and other service activities will also be required.
The Industrial Engineering Department has grown substantially over the past 10 years and currently serves approximately 150 undergraduate and 50 graduate students. The department offers an ABET accredited B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, an online M.S. degree in Engineering Management and an on-campus MS degree in Industrial Engineering. In addition, our faculty participate in multidisciplinary Ph.D. programs in Data Science and Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.
