Do you want to positively influence the future of healthcare through education? The College of Nursing at South Dakota State University is seeking a full-time Instructor or Lecturer position. Under the direction of the Assistant Academic Dean for Cooperative Programs, this position will play a key role in guiding and educating future nursing processionals. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible position that can be located at either our Brookings or Sioux Falls, South Dakota site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Faculty members plan, implement, and evaluate assigned courses either as an individual assignment or as a member of a teaching team.

SALARY RANGE:

Salary is commensurate with qualifications. We offer a generous retirement plan that includes 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and eleven paid holidays. Relocation benefits are available per university's guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing upon application, and a Master's degree in Nursing completed by start date;
  • Licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing, or eligible for licensure as evidenced by current licensure in another state;
  • Two years of relevant clinical practice experience;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences as evidenced in application materials;
  • Evidence of effective written communication skills;
  • Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Valid driver's license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and willingness to travel.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctoral preparation in Nursing or related discipline;
  • Degree education from more than one degree-granting institution;
  • Formal teaching experience in nursing; and
  • Evidence of professional service.
