Job Description:
PURPOSE OF JOB:

To transport,decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, process and
sterilize all surgical instrumentation, scopes, procdure trays, patient care
equipment and supplies and to appropriately monitor the effectiveness of all
sterilization processes according to Policies and Procedure and following
the guidelines set by AAMI, AORN, CDC and OSHA.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills in decontamination and
processing of instruments, scopes, equipment and supplies.
Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instrumentation and technical expertise
in identification of, care and handling of and inspection for proper working
order.
Demonstrates knowledge and technical skills in operating sterilization
equipment.
Demonstrates knowledge of Standard Precautions.
Demonstrates positive team relationship and communication skills and
contributes to create a cohesive and productive environment.
Recognizes the existence of cultural differences and utilizes
appropriate resources available throughout the hospital to respond to
the needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient,
family member and/or visit.
Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards in performance of their duties with integrity and to comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain.
Adheres to Doylestown Hospital's Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
Complies with HIPPA privacy rules by only discussing or seeking out information about the status of patients to whom care is being provided with other providing care to that same patient and ensuring such discussion takes place in a confidential setting.
Job Qualifications:
V. QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Education: High School or GED education
B. Experience: Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
Minimum 3 years experience with surgical
Instrumentation Preferred
Minimum 3 years experience in sterilization, steam
and etc - Prefer
C. Other Skills:
1. Good communication skills
2. Good customer relation skills
