A well-established legal firm specializing in insurance defense, transportation and logistics, employment law, estate planning, transaction work, and business litigation is searching for an experienced Defense Paralegal to join their team in Woodland Hills, CA. They are looking for a skilled paralegal with at least 5 years of experience and a strong background in bodily injury insurance defense litigation. In this role, you will be assigned to an attorney with a specific account and be responsible for managing tasks such as trial preparation, deposition and discovery summaries, medical record reviews, and motion preparation.

Salary Range: $38 - $40 / hour DOE

Insurance Defense Paralegal Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in bodily injury insurance defense litigation
  • Proficiency in ProLaw, Clio, Abacus, or similar document management systems
  • Paralegal certificate is required
  • Familiarity with federal court procedures is preferred
  • Experience with PACER is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

Insurance Defense Paralegal Responsibilities:
  • Provide paralegal support for a dedicated client account, working closely with a team of attorneys
  • Handle trial preparation, including both physical and electronic trial notebooks
  • Summarize depositions and discovery, review medical records, and create timelines of medical treatments
  • Assist in motion preparation and other litigation support tasks
  • Engage in client communication and support attorneys in various legal tasks
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation using ProLaw for document management, billing, and calendaring
  • Ensure compliance with all legal deadlines and procedural requirements
