Prairie St. John's has been providing services for children, adolescents, and adults to address behavioral health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, and intensive outpatient services. Accredited by The Joint Commission, we are the largest, freestanding behavioral health facility in the region. More than 4,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Prairie St. John's.

Our company is seeking a talented Intake Specialist to join our team. This position will be Full-Time 40 hours a week from 11:00 pm to 7:30 (days vary). The ideal candidate has experience in a similar position, strong communication skills and compassion for providing the best care for our patients.

Essential Job duties:

• • Effectively communicates with patients, family members, co-workers, and referral sources in a professional and courteous manner
  • Completes admission registration for patients and obtains appropriate signatures on admission forms.
  • Coordinates with external entities to aid in potential assessments or admissions
  • Completes observation rounds of patients in the assessment, lobby, and search areas
  • Thoroughly performs patient searches for contraband
  • Identifies and secures patient belongings in storage totes
  • Transitions patients to the patient care units and ensures hand-off communication is completed
  • Communicates with units regarding patient admissions.
  • Forwards paperwork to correct departments regarding registration and admission of patients.
