Duties

As an INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0132-11, you will Assists the Senior Intelligence Officer in assuring the Intelligence function maintains a capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations. Conducts coordination and liaison with counterparts and colleagues in other major command intelligence organizations to include the National Guard Bureau (NGB), United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Security Agency (NSA), U.S. Space Command (SPACECOM), U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and other agencies as required. Incumbent represents the organization at interagency conferences and meetings that deal with specialty functions and internal training requirements at the unit level. Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This position works on a 4/10's compressed work schedule with four 10-hour days, Tuesday-Friday each week of the pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

  • KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI within one year of appointment.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.
  • If applicant is a current KSARNG and not an onboard INDEF or PERM technician, applicant will be hired on as indefinite tenure 3.
  • ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND OPM PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK"
  • May be required to work on a shift schedule on short notice.
  • May be required to work uncommon tours on short notice.

  • Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance and be eligible for access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI).


Qualifications

Military Grades: E4 through E9, WO1 through WO3 or O1 through O4

Desired MOS: 35 and 31 series


GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have thorough knowledge of a variety of intelligence specialty areas along with a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practice and a complete knowledge of collection and dissemination techniques and sources as well as the ability to produce instructions and manuals with a minimum of direction.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Musthave the skill level equivalent to the next lower level on such things as advising on potential information sources within and outside the intelligence community, serving as a liaison representative with officials of government agencies and non-government organizations and participate in the briefing and debriefing of attaches and others returning from foreign travel. Must have knowledge of analyses and evaluations based upon material developed to a point of substantial completion and which they have validated for the purpose for which it is being used.

Education

Army National Guard Officer: An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university is mandatory. The college degree work should include completed academic courses in sociology, criminology, police administration, criminal justice, or a related area. A graduate degree from an accredited civilian academic college or from an equivalent professional military education school is optimum

Army National Guard Warrant Officer: Must have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma. An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university, with completed academic courses in sociology, criminology, police administration, criminal justice, or a related area, is optimum.

Army National Guard Enlisted: Must have a high school diploma or general education development (GED) diploma.

You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
