About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire an Intelligence Analyst Senior in our Virginia Fusion Center at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will receive, evaluate, triage, and respond to statewide cybersecurity incidents reported to the Virginia Fusion Center (VFC); conduct incident response and/or incident management functions in partnership with various stakeholders across State, local, federal, and private sector organizations; perform incident response functions to identify severity and potential impacts of cybersecurity incidents; assists in developing mitigation plans, and may make recommendations in support of restoration of critical services; provide technical expertise and/or assistance to victim organizations and recommends defense-in-depth principles and practices; correlate incident data to identify specific trends in reported incidents; assist in coordinating with private sector partners, law enforcement, and internal entities to conduct daily operations; and provide detailed incident reporting to management and executive leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
•Knowledge of basic system administration and operating system hardware techniques; of incident response and handling methodologies; of cybercrime tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to include website defacements, denial of service attacks, and ransomware; of various security methodologies, processes, and hardware including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS); and of computer forensic techniques.
•Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, summarize, interpret and communicate information and technical data orally and in writing; to clearly articulate technical cyber matters to a variety of audiences; to apply critical thinking to diverse information sets and to produce logic-based analysis and recommendations on probable and potential trends and event outcomes; to maintain accurate and complete files, manage multiple priorities, and follow oral and written instructions in English; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of municipal, State, and federal personnel and representatives of other agencies and organizations; to work semi-independently, establish priorities, and achieve high level results with limited direct supervision; and to create and provide intelligence briefings for all levels of personnel.
•Experience in computer science, information technology, cyber security, information systems, criminal justice, social
sciences.
•Must have a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a federal security clearance.
•Requires three-year commitment to the Virginia Fusion Center and ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Additional Considerations
•Cybersecurity, information technology, public safety, or intelligence analysis experience preferred.
•Public safety experience or other broad scope governmental experience is beneficial.
