This position reports directly to the Director - Government Affairs in the Government Affairs Department. Candidate will assist in the preparation of presentations and reports, as well as participate in the planning and execution of department functions. The candidate will support the Government Affairs team in promoting and monitoring public policy that impacts Delta and the aviation industry. The candidate will perform extensive research and analysis that will focus on transportation policy, and compile and report on data determined by the field and scope of the assignment/project to aid the Government Affairs staff. Assignments are completed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner while ensuring the methods conform to company standards. Candidate practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Salary range for this role: $35692.80 USD - $45210.88 USD annually.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Must be a current student enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program at a college and/or university.
  • Must be able to commit to the duration of the internship: Fall 2024 with a December 13, 2024, end date.
  • Must be able to work onsite in the Washington, D.C. office.
  • Have a competitive GPA and be in good academic standing with your university.
  • Intern candidates should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates that privacy is a priority when handling personal data.
  • Embraces a diverse set of people, thinking and styles.
  • Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
