Summary

The Department of Neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital seeks to fill a position for a part-time Research Intern.

Job Purpose

Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.

Job Duties

• Develops proficiency in data collection in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit under the supervision of the Clinical Research Coordinator.
• Assists Research Coordinator in explaining research study to patient and families.
• Understands the neuroscientific foundations of speech and language and their interactions with epilepsy.
• Attends lab meetings and journal clubs.
• Meets weekly with the Research Coordinator and Principal Investigator to discuss progress

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
