South Dakota State University (SDSU) Office of International Affairs is offering an exciting career opportunity as an International Admissions Coordinator. We are looking for a creative and innovative professional to join our team. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible position. This position is supervised by the Assistant Vice President for International Affairs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The International Admissions Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the strategic priorities for international enrollment, including proactive and timely communication, the progression of applicants through each stage of the admission process, and the successful conversion of admitted applicants to enrolled students at the university. The International Admissions Coordinator works with external stakeholders (agents, non-governmental partners, international universities), manages IT systems and data (CRM, SIS, etc.), and supports strategic international recruitment efforts, including occasional participation in overseas recruitment fairs and associated activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree completed by first date of employment;
  • At least one year of professional experience, with preference given to those with experience in university admissions or international education;
  • Knowledge of or interest in foreign education systems;
  • Familiarity with admissions cycles and rhythms of work throughout the cycles;
  • Ability to identify resources and opportunities for efficiency;
  • Experience working in a comprehensive international education office or in an international admissions unit at a public university;
  • Basic understanding of student advising principles, good communication practices and current business technology solutions;
  • Introductory knowledge of U.S regulations pertaining to F-1 visas; and
  • Valid drivers license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in one of the following areas: International Affairs/Relations, Foreign Language, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or other relevant academic field.
  • NAFSA credential evaluation or similar training.
