Position Summary :

Introduction of the educational technology program that meets the treatment goals and prevents student recidivism. Position is responsible for supporting the professional growth and development of all teachers to facilitate learning and effective application of instructional technology practices. Identifies existing and emerging trends in educational technology which engages multiple platforms including virtual, hybrid, and blended learning. Position provides support through planning, modeling, co-teaching, training, and data analysis across all content areas. Position plans and conducts professional development based on assessed building and/or teacher needs. Position functions within the Education Department as a staff developer and curriculum specialist.

Manages the daily operation of the school technology program. Under the direction of the Director of Education, the ITRT will work with teachers in the school to provide instructional support to include professional development activities, establishing goals to have accountability by performing teacher evaluations for use of professional development tools. He/she assists with school testing accountability and data collection, alternative education (GED; virtual school; credit recovery), and treatment team report compliance to ensure each student's educational needs are met and that the program meets all regulatory requirements and applicable standards. He/she serves as the facility's liaison with testing and accountability for the school, identifies students in the alternative education programs and educational counseling to students.

Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

Must have a Master's Degree or higher in Education or closely related field. Must also have a Collegiate Professional Teaching License from Virginia Department of Education. Must have experience in behavioral healthcare setting, preferably in the school setting. Must have a good working knowledge of Virginia regulations governing the operation of nonpublic schools, IEP compliance, and behavior management techniques. Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of education program accreditation requirements and student graduation requirements. Previous classroom experience in a residential treatment setting preferred.
