Job Description:

We are seeking Internship Candidates for our finance team. The purpose of the internship is to provide the student with supervised experience in the office or on the jobsite in the daily operations of construction and financial operations. This is a paid internship that is ideal for students pursuing a degree in business, finance, accounting, human resources, or related fields. Building on the success of past and present graduates and interns, Weaver-Bailey Contractors, Inc. views this position as a key component to its long-term growth strategy.

Each intern will be assigned a mentor, generally a key member of management, to provide supervision and promote a successful internship experience. Interns will be provided with immediate challenges, as they will work directly in the field with our crews and supervisory staff. Interns will be able to use their skills to contribute to the team while learning what it takes to be successful in the construction industry. The internship program consists of a ten-week schedule consisting of work within the office and in the field. Interns will have the chance to see all aspects of what it takes to operate a successful construction company in the heavy civil industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with generation of financial reports for accountants and Chief Financial Officer.
• Assisting with payroll functions, checking employee hours, print checks and other tasks.
• Assist Human Resources with hiring, onboarding and training opportunities.
• Learn other Business processes that are specific to the construction industry.
• Other tasks and projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Working toward a four-year degree in business, finance, accounting, human resources or related fields.

• Strong ability to demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.

• Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Programs.

• Ability to work well in a team environment.
