Team Overview:

Baird’s Operations Department (“Ops”) is the best kept secret in the financial services industry and plays a critical role to the success and growth or the firm. We partner with the different business and functions within Baird with the goal of driving efficiencies and reducing risk to the firm. See below for a current list of internship opportunities available in our Operations department:
  • Client Account Support :Serve as the front-line supporting our Private Wealth Management associates to meet the needs of their clients, including opening an account or facilitating client transactions.
  • Client Reporting :Support multiple client communications platforms to ensure our clients receive accurate and timely information, including client statements, tax statements, and investment performance.
  • Product Support :Provide support and expertise on the financial products used by our clients, including mutual funds, annuities, and advisory services.


Internship Location, Availability and Hours:

Located in our downtown Milwaukee, WI office, the intern must be able to work part-time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week, and full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are currently accepting applications for year-round internships that start in January/February 2025 or May 2025.

As an Operations Intern, you will:
  • Support the team with daily branch office inquiries (email/phone) and with recurring team tasks
  • Collaborate across the firm to help ensure highly efficient customer service
  • Partner with team members to find enhancements and streamline current process
  • Work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Receive firsthand mentoring and training


What we look for:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Anticipated graduation date of May 2026 or later
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage priorities to meet specific deadlines
  • Strong client service critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
