Engineering Automation Software is a part of the Vehicle Engineering organization. We are responsible for developing software to accelerate product development as it pertains to building our EVs, energy products, and gigafactories. This organization takes the same principles of adding exciting technologies into our vehicles and applying that same creative mindset to vehicle design, by thinking about how technology and innovation can help improve these processes.
The team's mission is to automate all the repetitive and data intensive tasks for Tesla's mechanical engineering teams. At scale this can equate to launching new products more quickly and efficiently as well as delivering significant cost savings to the company. This helps us get lower cost products into the hands of more customers more quickly, directly supporting Tesla's mission to transition the world towards sustainable energy.

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the architecture, design, development, deployment and operations of the software stack
- Collaborate in design and code reviews and work cross-functionally with infrastructure, product, and data teams
- Develop means for deploying, scaling, testing, and monitoring software systems
- Optimize code for performance, reliability, security, and maintainability
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field of study, with graduation date between April 2025-December 2025
- Excellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts and ability to write well-organized code
- Proficient in full-stack web development with hands-on experience in Python, Typescript, React, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
- Ability to take a complex challenge and deliver high quality simple solutions
- Self-driven with an analytical, first principles mindset, and a strong bias for action
- Genuine curiosity and willingness to understand how our products are designed, built and how they operate
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teams globally
- Experience in Pandas, Numpy, FastAPI, Next.js, TailwindCSS, preferred
- Experience working with distributed systems and databases (SQL, NoSQL), preferred
- Experience using both REST and GraphQL APIs for building and integrating web applications, preferred
- Experience working various authentication and authorization methods, including OAuth, OIDC, and ADFS, preferred
- Experience setting up and managing CI/CD platforms (such as Github Actions or Jenkins) to automate software testing, building, and deployment processes, preferred
- Experience using Git and Github for version control, preferred

Expected Compensation
$36.06 - $50.48 + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
