The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a Full-Time for Mammography @ The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania!
The schedule will be as follows: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 7am-330pm.
No Weekends, Holiday or Call.
The Breast Imaging Nurse works with the breast radiologists and technologists in the outpatient breast imaging clinic to provide care for patients undergoing routine screening, diagnostic imaging, and minimally invasive breast imaging procedures. The nurse is a critical member of our multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure holistic care of patients pre, during, and post procedures. Prior to our procedures, our nurse will provide pre-procedural education to our patients to help them prepare for and understand the procedure. Following the procedure, the nurse will administer post-procedural care including holding pressure of a superficial wound and administering appropriate wound care. The nurse will also provide post-procedural education and instructions to our patients. The nurse is responsible for procedural medication management, which is limited to local anesthesia. Additional responsibilities include confirming procedural appointments and conveying benign biopsy results via telephone to our patients.
Credentials:
• Must have Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing, at time of hire
• Must have more than 15 months relevant professional nursing experience and completion of the Nurse Residency Program, if applicable, at time of hire
• Must possess active Pennsylvania RN License, at time of hire
• Must possess active BLS/CPR, as a healthcare provider as per the American Heart Association at time of hire
• ACLS Certification preferred
• Must acquire CCRN or other national certification as defined in the HUP Nursing Policy Manual within 4 years of hire
