What You'll Do:
  • Requires thorough knowledge of inventory control, agency policies and procedures and state regulations on inventory control and salvage and surplus disposal
  • Under the direction of the Financial Program Manager
  • Maintains extensive agency-wide inventory (i.e. computer equipment; other IT equipment Prepare in-house agency forms
  • Enforces DAS/State Surplus and Asset Management as well as all agency policies and procedures regarding inventory control
  • Apply OAKS Chartfield accounts using OAKS Asset Management Accounting System; (e.g., verifies mathematical accuracy, quantity of goods purchased and received, able to reconciles discrepancies
  • Verifies appropriation sources
  • Matches invoices to delivery receipts and purchase orders
  • Maintain purchase order balances
  • Gathers and compiles information for financial reports
  • Prepares bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports on accounts maintained
  • Posts, updates and balances ledgers and journals for internal accounts for local funds
  • Able to properly lift between 25 - 30 lbs.
  • Reconciles internal accounts with auditor and state accounting
  • Performs variety of related clerical tasks (e.g., composes and edits correspondence relative to assigned work
  • Maintains files
  • Operates equipment to generate typed reports and correspondence
  • Answers telephone inquiries
  • Greets internal and external customers
  • Responds to or refers complaints
  • Answers general inquiries within established guidelines
  • Knowledgeable on how to use proprietary software i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Complete forms which report inventory levels and activity reports
  • Handles inventory control and asset depreciation
  • Must have knowledge of public relations
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Attends meetings, trainings, and conferences
  • May give presentations and conduct training

Qualifications
9 mos. exp. as Inventory Control Specialist, 64551.

-Or 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. exp. in inventory control; 3 courses or 9 mos. exp. in electronic data processing related to inventory control; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
