The role you'll contribute:

The accuracy and integrity of inventory is a vital component to ensure continued operations and avoids product or inventory shortages. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the warehouse operation maintains accurate inventory levels for ensuring inventory is available and ready for use. Ensures collection of volumetrics, disposal of obsolete products, returns, and reallocation of inventory as needed. Cycle Count inventory on a regular basis and provides reports to management. Responsible day-to-day cycle counting, reporting, item attributes, and maintaining millions of dollars of inventory at a very high-level of accuracy. Actively participates in outstanding customer service, communicates regularly with multiple departments internally and externally and is responsible for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

  • Ensure the depletion of old inventory before the conversion date.
  • Conduct regular analysis of inventory trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including inventory levels, item descriptions, and pricing information
  • Conduct daily cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Provide root cause analysis to the leadership regarding discrepancies
  • Analyze inventory to identify potential risks expiring products and make recommendations to management
  • Ensure the products on recalls are promptly removed from the shelf and returned to the vendor
  • Conduct empty location audit fixing any problems found
  • Performing all inventory functions to ensure accuracy, efficiency, compliance, profitability, proper material handling, and minimal damage.
  • Researching and identifying quality control issues to minimize recurrence, ensure regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities for improvement of all inventory functions and programs.
  • Collect and maintain volumetrics and item attributes.
  • Provide analysis and resolutions to management regarding inventory discrepancies or processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all audits, counts, adjustments, and analysis, including those specifically required.
  • Perform reverse logistics specific to customer return of product, ensuring proper and timely execution, including exception management.
  • Provide timely and accurate response to internal and external teams specific to required counts, balance on-hand and analysis.
  • Initiate communication to resolve errors.
  • Perform tasks in support of warehouse optimization, as assigned.
  • Provide the value of lost or missing inventory and report to appropriate Management.
  • Set-up new products in the system using volumetrics, storage rules, UOMs and other information to build WMS product catalog
  • Communicate with purchasing and merchandising teams and other departments as needed to research discrepancies.
  • Track lot and expiration dates within the warehouse and in the system
  • Follow all safety guidelines while operating powered equipment.
  • Complete pre-shift equipment inspection as required; report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • Maintain a quality of work that limits miss-picks, shorts and damages.
  • Maintain a clean and neat working environment.
  • Work flexible shifts occasionally, including evenings and weekends or as scheduled.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed by management.


Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
  • General knowledge of a variety of topics, such as writing, presentations, accounting, typing, etc.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong math skills and Microsoft Excel abilities
  • General computer skills and ability to work with the latest technologies which includes paperless processes for picking/pulling/staging and cross-docking orders and/or receipts.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
  • Material Handling Equipment (MHE) experience- Reach Truck, Order Picker, Powered Pallet-jack, Forklift
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience working in distribution a plus.
  • Prior experience working in a goal-oriented environment.


LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
  • MHE certification- Reach Truck, Order Picker, Powered Pallet-jack, Forklift
  • Warehouse Certification and Operations Certification also a plus.
