About the Role

GI is dedicated to combating serious and organized crime on the platform. We are currently building out referral and triage process with internal stakeholders in order to support this mission. As a Junior Investigative Analyst you'll provide assistance to this process through the collection, analysis and dissemination of information to team members and stakeholders. You will utilize internal case management systems and tools to triage and analyze investigative data in order to identify potential leads and provide a value add to investigations. Your focus will be on crime types ranging from external fraud to human trafficking with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions a must!

The role requires flexibility with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities as needed for timely response to critical incidents.

What You'll Do

- Triage and assess a wide range of investigative leads that are referred into the GI team.
- Actively seek, identify and analyze data to value-add to potential investigations, using a range of Uber and open source data sets.
- Produce concise yet thorough initial case reports for the GI investigators.
- Work in a collaborative environment supporting numerous internal partners, including acting as a conduit to enhance the relationship between Public Safety and GI.
- Manage multiple cases and projects at once while effectively prioritizing time.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in investigations or intelligence support, OR 2 years and 1 year of Uber internal experience.

Preferred Qualifications

- The ability to juggle multiple projects in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Ability to make decisions based on limited information.
- Proficiency using SQL and/or Python for data analysis is a plus!
- Experience in technical investigations and/or previous computer forensic training.
- Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability.

For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$90,000 per year - USD$100,000 per year.
