About the Role
Global Investigations is dedicated to combating serious and organized crime on the platform, along with internal misconduct. As the Investigator for the NORAM region you'll be responsible for conducting both internal and external investigations, with the ability to manage the full life cycle of these matters. You will utilize internal case management systems and tools to triage and analyze investigative data in order to identify productive lines of enquiry. You must be able to manage large amounts of data, and understand fraud & cyber-related crimes. Your focus will be both internal and external cases which involve a diversity of crime types. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct targeted investigations on the highest priority matters impacting Uber and its community
- Produce concise yet detailed case reports for internal and external partners
- Explain highly technical findings in lay terms to various stakeholders, including law enforcement
- Identify and develop innovative methods to help the business mitigate vulnerabilities
- Work in a collaborative environment supporting numerous partners, while managing stakeholder expectations
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years working in an investigative environment, with corporate investigations, law enforcement, forensic accountancy or law
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of SQL and/or Python; or willingness to learn
- Demonstrated proficiency with Google Suite
- Experience in technical investigations and/or previous computer forensics exposure.
- Proven ability to conduct complex fraud & financial crimes investigations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Established proficiency in investigative interviewing
- Ability to analyze large datasets to identify critical evidence
For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$99,000 per year - USD$110,500 per year.
For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$99,000 per year - USD$110,500 per year.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$110,000 per year - USD$122,500 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$110,000 per year - USD$122,500 per year.
For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$99,000 per year - USD$110,500 per year.
For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$110,000 per year - USD$122,500 per year.
