Job Summary:

This role reports to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and is chiefly responsible for assisting the CIO in the development of quantitative and qualitative research to build the "CIO View" for the Financial Advisors/Client Advisors. This role will also assist in the development of research publications to convey investment strategy and "CIO View". An Investment Analyst will assist in the creation, monitoring and articulation of proprietary high conviction ideas across all asset classes. High conviction ideas should be supported by and consistent with the CIO view, fundamentals and technicals. This incumbent will also develop ad hoc presentations for Chief Investment Officer to participate at conferences and other client related events. In this role, there is also responsibility for developing global economic views, investment views on various asset classes, developing high conviction ideas, timely research publications on market moving events and investment outlooks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and enhance proprietary models for the economy (e.g. recessionary models), equities (valuation models) and fixed income (levels and spreads)

• Serve as back-up to CIO/Chief Investment Strategist in responding to CA/FA inquirie

• Develop a view on market/investment questions from CA/FA'

• Develop timely research publications and liaison with Marketing to distribute to all relevant channels in order to maximize reach of research

• Research and understand a wide range of asset classes that include equities (U.S., sectors, international, developed and emerging markets), fixed income (sectors), commodities and alternatives.

• Update internet and RJNet with timely publication

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• Research tools such as FactSet and Bloomberg

• On-line research data providers (Fed, BLS, BEA)

• Company's working structure, policies, mission, strategies, and compliance guidelines.

• Economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and analysis and reporting of financial data

• Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Skill in:

• Strong work ethic, commitment to deadlines and strong attention to detail

• Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and database

• Strong communication skill set, particularly writing

• Preparing and delivering clear, effective, and professional presentation

• Identifies the needs of customers through effective questioning and listening technique

Ability to:

• Build databases, analyze data (including regression analysis), and communicate finding

• Monitor the drivers of performance for each asset class ranging from equities to bonds to alternative

• Be self-motivated and successful in creating individualistic research

• Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

• Articulate reasons behind decision

• Keep all appropriate parties up-to-date on decisions, changes, and other relevant information

• Identify problems, gather facts, and develop solution

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Finance or Economic

• CFA or MBA candidates a plu

• Minimum of 3 years of financial industry experience

Licenses/Certifications:

• Series 7 strongly preferred, or the ability to obtain within 6 month
