Citizens M&A Advisory, a division of Citizens Bank, is seeking an Associate I to join our Business Services team. This person will support the M&A Advisory group, and will be responsible for traditional mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, and staff specializing in leveraged buyout or management buyout (LBO / MBO) transactions. As an Associate I in the Advisory group, you will be responsible for relationship management / client coverage, transaction structuring and execution, and general corporate finance activities (e.g., advisory, refinancings, valuations) across more than one industry (e.g., capital goods and consumer). You will be the primary contact for corporate and institutional clients and serve their overall investment banking needs. Additionally, you may be involved in structuring all types of transactions / financing for these clients and work in conjunction with specialized staff. Primary responsibilities include
  • Managing and assisting with the preparation of financial models and business valuations
  • Supporting junior and senior team members in developing new business ideas, pitch strategies, or transaction structuring scenarios (inclusive of equity, debt and/or M&A) to help the firm's corporate and sponsor clients achieve their financial and strategic objectives
  • Leading / participating in meetings with current and prospective clients
  • Conducting industry and company due diligence
  • Preparing and reviewing information memoranda and other transaction documents: draft key marketing and key transaction related documents
  • Preparing and reviewing pitch/business origination materials and other presentations: develop and review pitches and other presentations and be an integral part of the team in delivering these presentations
  • Assisting business development efforts

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
  • 3+ years of work experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, or MBA graduate
  • Intelligent and resourceful
  • Professional / concise oral and written communication
  • Strong technical skills (knowledge of accounting, modeling, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-starter / intellectual curiosity
  • Strong work ethic / team player / high degree of humility, maturity, and integrity
  • Ability to work efficiently and to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Please note that U.S. Immigration sponsorship or work visa is not available for this position and candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Hours per Week: 40 +
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
