IG Credit Salesperson: Work within the IG Credit Sales Team with a focus covering US clients and liase with Asia based accounts during US hours. Based in Chicago, this position will report to the head of US IG Credit Sales. This position will have defined production targets in addition to goals that are longer term in nature that will advance the franchise in areas such as IT, product development, and market penetration. While this position will be markets based, collaboration with colleagues in banking will be of paramount importance to its success. While the focus will be on IG corporate bonds, the ability to navigate respective clients to help distribute other region/product loans and bonds with IG metrics is expected.

As our Investment Grade Credit Salesperson you will:

  • Contribute to the development of and implementing an overall strategy and vision for the team in line with our Credit Sales, and overall Markets and Securities Services strategy
  • Implement client and sales strategies that further the business agenda and drives enhanced revenue generation
  • Provide clients with a fit for purpose, relevant and commercial Investment Grade Credit proposition and product offering that utilizes HSBC's global footprint and local knowledge
  • Drive product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment, while meeting the Group conduct outcomes
  • Be an effective sponsor to drive the Change agenda is fundamental to the role. The aim is to ensure Investment ('Change the Bank') funds are maximized and the business is transformed into a globally standardized platform for electronic and voice trading and risk management.
  • Drive collaboration with other internal businesses within Markets and Securities Services and other internal businesses including Banking and Wholesale Banking, Wealth and Personal Banking, and Private Banking
  • Conduct, Risk, Controls and Regulation


For this role, HSBC targets a pay range $400,000.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • University Degree or advanced qualifications and equivalent experience
  • Experience in managing a large regional team, ideally within a Markets and Securities Services function
  • Strong understanding of a Markets and Securities Services business and able to work within a matrix organization
  • 20 years minimum experience in Investment Banking - specifically Credit knowledge
  • Strong risk management skills and a good understanding of sales and technology
  • Has strong understanding of Controls, Conduct and Operational Risk
  • Able to lead and influence senior stakeholder groups to achieve desired outcome
  • Able to drive change and be an effective sponsor that can support, follow up and challenge
  • Understand market developments, business and client needs pre and post trade
  • Process thinker, with ability to design / engineer efficient processes, and create efficient STP work flow
