Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry. Position: Pour Off Operator - 2 nd shift, starting at 4pm

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Draws molten metal from ladle for pouring into molds to make castings
  • Responsible for own safety and the safety of others in the area
  • Prepares molds for iron pouring process
  • Communicates with melt shop regarding the temperature of the iron.
  • Follows proper production procedures for processing the iron
  • Follow all safety regulations regarding the iron pouring process
  • Collaborates with the manufacturing team to ensure production conformity
  • Strong focus on safety and quality
  • Great work ethic and a desire to learn
  • Clean-up of workstation and surrounding work areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical and industrial environment.
  • Team orientated
  • Strong work ethic and desire to learn
  • Knowledge and use of air tools, power tools, chippers, grinders, sledgehammers, and chisels
  • Observe and enforce all safety requirements in the area, including PPE
  • Must be able to read, write and follow detailed instructions.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.


Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Position requires the ability to stand or walk for long durations.
  • Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures (hot/cold).
  • Handle moving objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • The ability to see details at close and distant range with depth perception and the ability to see colors.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.


Job Type: Full Time. Hourly, non-exempt.
