Job Title: Sr. Information Security Engineer (Systems O&M)

Location: US-MD-Bowie

Overview:

The Sr. Security Engineer (Systems O&M) is responsible for ensuring the proper administration, configuration and integration of organizational security solutions. The successful candidate must leverage in-depth technical expertise in networking, systems and security related technologies to furher strengthen the Inovalon security posture. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist in developing procedures and metrics while providing mentoring to junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Implement, administer and maintain company security solutions including perimeter, network and endpoint defenses
• Implement, administer and maintain SIEM and log management solutions
• Assist in the execution of incident response, vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits
• Develop and maintain detailed configuration and process documentation
• Document, Schedule and execute change requests in accordance with the company change control procedures
• Recommend additional security solutions or enhancements to existing security solutions to improve overall enterprise security
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors
• Engage in ongoing communications with peers in the Systems and Networking groups as well as the various business groups to foster enterprise wide co-operation
• Fulfill other responsibilities that may be assigned

Qualifications:

• 5 years' experience in the information security or information technology fields
• Experience in the configuration and operation of a wide variety of security solutions
• Demonstrated experience writing rules and/or alerts for SIEM tools (Splunk, SolarWinds LEM, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience writing rules and/or alerts for Intrusion Prevention Systems
• Demonstrated experience administering and maintaining Advanced Malware Protection Systems
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization
• Ability to guide and mentor junior team members
• Possession of industry or relevant vendor certifications is preferred (Security +, CEH, GCIH, GCIA, etc.)
• Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
