IT Director, Middleware API Platform

Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Director for Middleware Enterprise API Platform to lead our organization's strategic initiative in advancing federated API delivery with centralized governance. This role is pivotal in driving the design, implementation, and optimization of our API platform architecture to ensure seamless integration across our enterprise systems while maintaining robust governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the enterprise API platform, focusing on federated API delivery and centralized governance.
• Collaborate with senior management to align API platform initiatives with business objectives and IT infrastructure roadmap.
• Platform Architecture:
• Architect and oversee the implementation of a scalable, resilient API platform that supports federated API management.
• Define standards and best practices for API design, development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Governance and Compliance:
• Establish governance models, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, security, and compliance across all APIs.
• Implement monitoring and enforcement mechanisms to maintain data integrity, performance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Serve as a key liaison between IT teams, business units, and external partners to gather requirements and ensure alignment of API initiatives with business needs.
• Communicate API platform capabilities, benefits, and roadmaps to executive stakeholders and technical teams effectively.
• Team Leadership and Development:
• Build and lead a high-performing team of API architects, developers, and administrators.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the API platform team.
• Vendor Management:
• Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers for API platform tools and services.
• Negotiate contracts, oversee vendor performance, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
