GDC IT Solutions is looking for a IT Helpdesk Technician in the Franklin, WI area.

Position Overview:

The IT Helpdesk Technician resolves internal user problems and ensures correct operation of company computers. Troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals. Maintains parts inventory and logs all service/repair activity. The IT Helpdesk Technician may perform system setups for new hires.

Responsibilities

This position provides a variety of duties and responsibilities. Examples include:
  • Answer client's inquiries in person and via telephone concerning systems operation; diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems; and recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
  • Maintain personal computers, both hardware and software, and all PC peripherals such as printers, etc.
  • Deploy hardware and peripheral components, such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and external drives, following installation specifications.
  • Assign specified software packages, such as MS Office products, PDF programs, CAD programs, etc to computer.
  • Instructs user in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
  • Replace defective or alternative software packages. Refer major hardware problems to service providers for correction.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent is required.
  • Must have 1-3 years of work experience in PC applications, loading of PC software, and knowledge of personal computers.
  • Must be able to work independently on projects at times and together with IT personnel and/or users with all levels of computer understanding.
  • Must be a team worker with a service-oriented attitude and willingness to treat all end users as customers. High level of interpersonal interaction skills is required.
  • Must be able to perform semi-routine work assignments with established procedures and occasional variation.
  • Frequent problem solving is required.
