Job Description

Reports to and works under the direction of the Senior Director of IT Operations and is responsible for the financial analysis, monitoring and maintenance of the VMware, Storage/back-up, Windows, Mainframe, Cache, Linux, SQL Enterprise Operations budgets, inventory and the solicitation of contracts across these Departments. This includes but is not limited to the review of quotes, purchase orders, contracts, approval of invoices for payment as well as interactions with vendors and customers. Additional responsibilities include participation in developing and maintaining IT Budgets, Strategic Financial Planning and Forecasting, and Technical Participation in Procurement related activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform regular analysis, reconciliation and validation of invoices and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Analyze monthly and quarterly reports, address variances and monitor facilitate invoices payments and, or credits.
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory for all IT Operations Department assets as well as documentation.
  • Provide financial reports to Leaderships
  • Collaborate with internal departments and vendors on various contracts and amendments
  • Ensure that inventory information (account numbers, remit to address, GL coding, etc.) is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Assist in the budgetary planning, preparation of departmental budgets and the performance cost studies.
  • Complete assignments in a timely manner; adheres to project deadlines and department standards.
  • Prioritize work assignments to ensure optimum departmental operation.
  • Attend required departmental and unit meetings.
  • Communicate program information to co-workers and supervisors as necessary and appropriate.
  • Resolve departmental and program related issues by securing necessary documentation.
  • Work with the requisite departmental teams, Directors, Assistant Directors and Finance, to coordinate and facilitate closure of RFP/RFB/RFQ.
  • Ensure coordinated execution of Vendor RFP/RFB/RFQ scope of work across the Department with proper planning, documentation, testing, tasks and implementation plan of actions


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study; and
2. Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems and applications.
Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years).
Network Services requires a telecommunications background and experience.
3. Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or
4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience

Department Preferences

Certification(S)/NYS Licenses/Education:
  • Associate Degree in Accounting
  • Certificate in Computer Science or comparable
