The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is actively seeking an IT project management professional to join our Enterprise Endpoint Technology Engineering unit. As the IT project manager (IS Technical Services Consultant / Admin) , this position is responsible for establishing objectives, schedules, and priorities for major IT infrastructure systems.

This full-time permanent position is located within the Bureau of Information Technology Services, Division of Business Management and headquartered at the Hill Farms State Office Building on the near west side of Madison. We are also conveniently located close to the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment of the Hilldale Mall .

Position Summary

In this position, you will provide advanced project manager services by coordinating concurrent IT projects encompassed by the customer's business plan and implementing the use of statewide strategic information technology architectures. Additionally, you'll be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing highly complex, integrated IT systems across multiple business areas. This includes systems developed internally or externally and purchased software/systems hosted internally or externally. The position requires extensive, comprehensive knowledge of IT project management, project development, and project leadership concepts, methods, practices, and skills.

Salary Information

This position is in schedule-range (07-32) with an annual salary of $76,960 - $110,240 (or $37 - $53 per hour), plus excellent benefits . A twelve-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must detail having experience in all the following in order to be considered:
  • Managing multiple complex and highly visible enterprise-wide IT infrastructure-based projects.
  • Performing formal IT project management and development functions through the entire project lifecycle (i.e., planning, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, support etc.).
  • Creating project work plans/tasks/schedules and estimating resources needs

In addition to having all the above, well qualified applicants will also detail having experience with one or more of the following:
  • Developing and maintaining business and cross-agency partnerships.
  • Performing asset management, reporting, and developing recommendation plans.
  • Supporting and managing Windows based desktop hardware, operating systems, and applications.
  • Utilizing workstation management tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Management, as well as software packaging techniques and processes
