We are seeking an IT Service Desk Administrator who will maintain and support our IT environment across the Laitram companies. The primary responsibilities for this position include working with end-users and cross-departmental resources to analyze and address issues and inefficiencies in our IT environment, as well as providing documentation, triage, and training support for our suite of software and hardware offerings.

The ideal candidate will be an inquisitive, analytical, and technically-inclined individual who enjoys troubleshooting and root-cause analysis. They will also display strong customer service skills and keen attention to detail.

This position is on-campus in New Orleans with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule as approved by the supervisor. This position will report to the New Orleans IT Service and Support Supervisor. The hours will be between 8 am and 5 pm CST.

Responsibilities:

  • Application of systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency for our broad and diverse end-user base.
  • Investigation, documentation, and resolution of break/fix issues, including (but not limited to) applications, OS, network, and hardware.
  • Maintaining effective communication between business users and other global IT members throughout the course of incident and request fulfillment.
  • Providing project support, including (but not limited to) testing, documentation, and implementation of IT solutions
  • Maintaining regional vendor relationships


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One or more of the following:
    • A bachelor's degree
    • An associate's degree in IT or computer science
    • At least 1 year of work experience in an IT analytical role
    • A Comptia or equivalent IT certification
  • Experience with Windows operating systems
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned work according to business need and priority
  • Flexibility with work schedule and ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Self-managed; ability to work well alone and in a global team environment
  • Strong analytical and technical skills: ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
