Reports To: Technology Coordinator

Job Goal: Support the use of technology for instruction, communication and administration in an educational environment. Work with the technology coordinator to develop procedures and practices to minimize downtown and maximize network efficiency.

Duties:
  • Installations and maintenance of network, servers and related systems including upgrades, updates and enhancements.
  • Work with all facets of server systems including troubleshooting, repair, installation and administration.
  • Create, manage and administer active directory accounts, access to files, email accounts and internet access records, security.
  • Manage and maintain network security, maintenance, back-ups and firewalls.
  • Monitor and maintain filtering of appliances for internet access.
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot network hardware and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot network related issues as they occur.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation in all areas of responsibility.
  • Provide support for Websmartt (school nutrition software), Chalkable, and SETS.
  • Keep Technology Coordinator informed of all technological issues, potential problems, threats and unusual events.
  • Attend training sessions, conferences and workshops as assigned or appropriate to keep abreast of current practices, programs and legal issues.
  • Represent the system in a positive and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement and taking appropriate action.
  • Other duties as assigned the Technology Coordinator or Superintendent.

Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technology field preferred.
  • Network Administration experience.
  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Microsoft and Cisco training and/or certifications preferred.
  • Chalkable/INOW/ PowerSchool experience preferred.
  • Experience with configurations and troubleshooting Windows laptops and desktops; MAC computers, various APPLE TV, laptops and iPads; Chromebooks and network printers.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory design and implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with networks, LAN, WAN, vLAN
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2010, 2012, and MS SQL 2000, 2008, 2012.
  • Experience with scripting and programming.
  • Experience with software installation and configuration.
  • Experience with hardware, network, and software troubleshooting.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with administrators, faculty, and staff and provide technical support.
  • Strong project management skills and experience,
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to assigned tasks
  • Problem solving skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Shows initiative and ability to react quickly to problems.
  • Must meet background clearance requirements.

Evaluation: Performance of the job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on evaluation of personnel.

Salary Range: Salary is based on Board approved salary schedule based on rank, certification and
experience. (Actual salary will be determined upon verification of experience.)
