Qualifications
To qualify for a IT Specialist (INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
To qualify at the NH-03 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 or GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.
Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Administering network passwords protections systems and ensuring compliance with DOD Information Technology security network policies and procedures;
- Analyzing system vulnerabilities, writing contingency plans, training security officers on automated data processing;
- Conducting Information Technology security compliance inspections;
- Identifying and resolving Information Technology security vulnerability and their countermeasures, especially in Linux, Windows, data communications and networking;
- Working with hardware components, transmission modes and interfaces with other systems and operating systems software; cost/benefits analysis in software acquisitions and/or equipment;
- Working with electronic key management systems to develop, interpret and evaluate policies and procedures.
AND
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Duties
- As an Automated Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO), develops, executes and monitors ADP security program in several states in order to insure the integrity of the system and compliance with NSA and DoD Security requirements.
- Provides technical advice concerning the security requirements and impacts of changes to all ADP system.
- Conducts periodic compliance surveys and reviews to insure that manual procedures are sufficient and are being followed.
- Ensures ADP hardware has not been damaged, altered, misused in such a way as to impact system or network security, and internal software.
- Develops, executes and monitors the directorate's privacy program in compliance with DOD and DA requirements.
- Performs analytical work associated with developing, interpreting, evaluating, and implementing COMSEC policies and procedures for application throughout the division.

Qualifications
To qualify for a IT Specialist (INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
