Area of Consideration is limited to employees whose permanent/temporary duty assignment is in a component within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

Duties

  • Provides liaison activities between the Call Center functions and the nationwide user community as well as the staff responsible for programmatic systems and applications software.
  • [cont'd] Analyzes problems and communicates the results to appropriate telecommunications support personnel to achieve resolution of complex online problems.
  • Prepares, reviews, and analyzes statistical reports and other systems operational data reflecting status of all data communications activities and identifying type of problems,
  • [cont'd] types of failing equipment, systems performance and human failures to develop corrective procedures.
  • Performs and develops methods designed to simplify and automate network operations in the Call Center in order to minimize human intervention of routine time, consuming operations.
  • [cont'd] As complexity increases, programs interfacing with other programs, multiple systems inter-connected and communicating with each other,
  • [cont'd] development of automatic responses and courses of action by a host processor will free technical personnel in order to apply knowledge to technically difficult situations.
  • Documents and maintains the operations problem resolution log and analyzes the data to rapidly identify similar or recurring problems.

In addition, applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such IT related experience must include experience analyzing system problems and communicating results utilizing various communication methods and techniques while demonstrating an understanding of customer service principles.

NONCOMPETITIVE CONSIDERATION DUE TO SPECIAL HIRING AUTHORITY

LOCALITY PAY: Salary will be set in accordance with locality pay provisions. Candidates currently receiving a higher locality pay than the office applied for are advised that should they be selected, they will lose entitlement to the higher locality pay.
