We are currently looking for a Full Time IT Sr Systems Engineer to join our IT Shared Services team located at the Abbott Miller Bldg working .

Summary:

The Sr Systems Engineer provides technical guidance and direction in support of the day-to-day operations for Network Operations, Communications and Technical Support of the IT Department of the Chickasaw Nation Division of Commerce. This position provides leadership and direction with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of malfunctions with computer hardware and software.

Responsibilities:
* Plans staff to meet operational needs
* Monitors and improves work performance of assigned teams as whole and as individuals
* Prepares ad hoc reports
* Assists with capacity planning and performance management of critical servers and applications.
* Serves as lead worker in assigned area
- Mentors, coaches and assists in training lower level staff
- May review the work quality and or quantity of lower level staff
- May provide input on performance appraisals for lower level staff
- May be required to act as Supervisor on Duty in the absence of the Supervisor to ensure all operational standards are maintained
- Serves as subject matter expert for work tasks and duties performed
- Oversees work of assigned staff for quality, quantity, compliance with internal controls, process, etc.
- May be responsible to adjust staff assignments based on business needs
* Leads the planning and implementation of server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches
* Analyzes cost and maintenance trends and makes recommendations for continual improvement
* Assists with orientation, special activities and training on specific procedures, tasks or equipment
* Mentors, coaches, develops and assists in training in assigned area
* Implements system design; creates supporting documentation, and knowledge transfer to the team for daily support and maintenance
* Partners with other architects, infrastructure, and software experts to define metadata layers, technical strategy, and optimal integration within the existing client IT landscape
* Researches new technology and recommends to leadership anything that would improve operations
* Proposes new ideas to improve offerings, processes and procedures
* Understands performance metrics, monitors system performance, and troubleshoots issues

Skills:
Essential:
* Strong working knowledge in Server virtualization; primarily Microsoft Hyper-V
* Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment.
* Experience with load balancing and clustering
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft ServerS
* Familiarity with TCP/IP and MPLS network protocols, firewall management, and operating system configuration
* Strong knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue
* Ability to present in front of groups up to senior management level
* Excellent public speaking skills
