This position is within FSU's Department of Information Technology Administration Partnership Program at the College of Nursing (fsu.edu)
The IT Team in the College of Nursing supports faculty, staff, and students. This includes troubleshooting problems with FSU-issued laptops and desktops, including software installation, configuration issues, connection issues and hardware troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
Dual Reporting: College of Nursing and ITS-ITAPP partnership to deliver information technology services to support the college's mission. Reports to ITS to manage IT service for the College of Nursing, consolidate services, and leverage centrally funded/managed systems and personnel. Responsible for providing technical customer support for internal Nursing systems, software, hardware, and network infrastructure. Installs, configures, and troubleshoots desktop/mobile systems, workstations, printers, servers, and network issues. Serves as a principle point of contact to answer inquiries and initiate resolution of problems. Communication may be on-site, electronic, or by phone. May respond to requests from the help desk to support end-users on various desktop/mobile systems issues and assess assigned priority levels.
Responsible for onsite and remote troubleshooting and mitigating complex problems related to computer hardware and software applications. Assists with analysis and development of procedures involving computing and network issues. Responsible for providing technical support for internal endpoints, software, and network infrastructure for the College of Nursing. Maintain a library of software, and site licenses, and keep software records up to date. Responsible for computer inventory and user training for the College of Nursing.
Before deployment, perform initial computer hardware setup through a preset image, liaise with ITS for the image components, and test the image (both for Mac and Windows environments). Regularly assesses the necessity for image modifications based on college needs and user requirements and assures compliance to prevent any possible vulnerabilities. Customize software applications to College of Nursing requirements.
Liaises with ITS to manage the College of Nursing's computing resources in the FSU Active Directory, email, network, network print services, and other services provided by ITS. Establishes professional relationships with other ITS personnel and, as part of the ITAPP organization, works with other units and provides technical expertise as needed. Participate in the research and acquisition of new resources for the College of Nursing. Provides setup and assistance with classroom technology.
Execute the college's vulnerability management program associated with workstations, laptops, and printers. Contributes to cybersecurity efforts, risk assessments and management, and IT continuity of operations.
Develop and support the College of Nursing Computer Lab. Perform routine maintenance of the computer lab computers, printers, and network. Work in concert with ITS to keep lab computers secure and limit computer load on the campus network. Install required software to support class requirements.
Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes pertaining to support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to four years.)
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to troubleshoot and mitigate complex problems in a Windows environment relating to hardware and software applications
Ability to maintain hardware and software inventory records
Experience setting up and configuring new workstations in a Windows environment
Experience with basic end-user training relating to hardware and software usage
Experience prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously
Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures for computer support
Experience using O365, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and Zoom
Experience using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) to image workstations
Experience supporting technology in a lab environment
Experience remediating computer vulnerabilities
Familiarity with basic network troubleshooting
Experience managing objects in an Active Directory environment
Experience with using remote tools to troubleshoot computer-related issues
Experience with supporting Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
Experience with supporting users in Canvas
