Job Summary/Basic Function

A position supporting a designated academic area as part of the Integrated Technology Support Services (ITSS) team providing timely support to faculty and staff technology in their offices, classrooms/labs, and conference rooms. This position is:
  • Responsible for recommending, purchasing, and maintaining equipment in support of the faculty and support staff of NUAMES North. This includes setting up and refreshing images in classrooms and labs; installing licensed software, coordinating the purchase of approved equipment, and tracking the equipment in the campus inventory system;
  • Manage work requests that come in and coordinate extended support with other members of the support team. This includes creating and tracking requests in the ticketing system;
  • Work with ITSS team Manager and TSS Director to ensure equipment cycles are forecasted for replacement and that funding processes are in place;
  • Classroom equipment is checked frequently to ensure a proactive response to problems can be determined before an issue arises. This would include adhering to campus information security policies, active updating/patching of installed equipment, and ensuring equipment is physically secured;
  • Work with NUAMES North administrators and collaborate with support team peers to determine expanded class technology opportunities are considered in support of improving optimal learning spaces; and
  • Work with vendors to find the best equipment and pricing for replacements.


  • This position will be required to work closely with NUAMES North administrators, faculty, and staff as well as the support team manager/director to provide excellent customer service and technical support. The employee will be expected to communicate efficiently and in a timely manner when dealing with varying situations that may occur.

    Required Qualifications

    Required:
    Associate's or equivalent combination of education and experience

    2 years of experience troubleshooting technology with emphasis on two or more of the following technologies in a full time position:
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Microsoft System Center
    • JAMF
    • AV Technologies
    • Security & Vulnerability Management
    • Microsoft and Apple Command Line Interfaces



    Experience providing in-depth support for enterprise systems and software such as Google Apps for Education, INB, Argos reporting, Microsoft Office Suite, Windows OS, Apple OS, etc.

    Experience imaging computers

    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred:
    • Experience evaluating and maintaining the security of computer stations
    • Experience providing formal or informal training to peers and those outside of peer group
    • Experience managing an assigned workload and coordinating resources for competing projects and tasks without requiring guidance from other parties
    • Experience working with users to determine action plans
    • Experience working on teams - possibly having led a project or coordinated work on projects
