The DNR is currently recruiting to fill their IT Systems & Data Management Supervisor vacancy within DNR IT. The position is headquartered at the State Natural Resource Building (GEF 2) in downtown Madison, which is conveniently located near various restaurants and coffee shops. The position may be able to telecommute up to 60% of the time pending supervisor approval.

Position Summary

This position has overall operational management responsibility for the Systems and Data Management Section within DNR IT. This section consists of three teams providing technical services, data/database management services and forms ‐ related services. Together, these teams provide management and support for agency ‐ wide IT infrastructure and platforms.

Specific functions within the section include providing desktop image and its deployment, patch management, 2nd/3rd level support for all end user devices in the DNR; database administration, data architecture and database standards; support for servers and DevOps; support for enterprise applications, including SharePoint and Teams; forms development and support; and problem, change and release management.

Salary Information

The classification of this position is IS Supervisor 2, which is in schedule-range 70-02 with a salary of $114,400 - $124,800 annually ($55.00 - $60.00 hourly), based on qualifications.

This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit.

A 12-month probationary period may be required. Pay for state employees will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have each of the following:

• Experience with on-premise, cloud (e.g., Azure/AWS) and/or hybrid environments for all of the below
  • Data infrastructure (relational databases/document-oriented databases, data warehousing and data visualization),
  • Identity Management (e.g., Active Directory/Okta)
  • Servers/collaboration technology (e.g., Windows Servers, SharePoint, Teams).
• Experience with ITIL Framework, concepts and tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Experience with networking technologies e.g. routers and VPN

In addition, highly qualified candidates will have one or more of the following:

• Experience using and managing custom software development frameworks (e.g., SDLC/Agile), automated processes (e.g., DevOps), architecture/technologies (e.g., .Net/Java) and/or development environments (Visual Studio/Eclipse).
• Experience as a supervisor or lead worker of IT professionals (e.g., hiring, performance management, assigning or approving work of others, etc.).
