Responsibilities
  • Ensure Data Center Operation success through network, server, and infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Install network gear, servers, and cabling to meet customer and company needs.
  • Responsible for network cable installations and removals, space planning, cabinet/equipment installations, fabrication, tray installation, network and fiber cabling, maintaining, updating and closure of Service Management tickets.
  • Other duties include troubleshooting hardware, connectivity issues and replacement of hardware components, installing patch cabling and general troubleshooting.
  • Additional responsibilities will include Installation and support of cabinet Power Strips, WAPs, troubleshooting any device in the Data Center that requires physical connectivity. System engineers work closely with architects, network, storage, and system admin support teams to ensure seamless and quality IT support for CommonSpirit Health customers and alignment with CommonSpirit Health's IT standards, controls and governance.
  • This position is 100% physically on-site at the Data Center in Dallas, TX.

Qualifications

BA or BS in Computer Science, Technology, or Business discipline or equivalent experience is required.

3-7 years of professional experience in an IT technical or infrastructure field is required.

One or more of the following sets of qualifications:

Data Center
• 6+ years hands on experience monitoring and operating data center power and cooling infrastructures (UPS, PDU, STS, ATS, CRAC, Generators, transformers, rectifiers, and Chillers).
• 4+ years' experience building and deploying data center racks and rack enclosures.
• 4+ years' experience using and deploying building management and/or monitoring systems.
• 4+ years' experience managing and reporting on data center systems and building capacity.
• 4+ years' experience planning and installing data center copper and fiber optic cabling.
• Ability to develop and organize written documentation and procedures is required.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in determining work and problem resolution priorities and approaches.
• Demonstrates a customer service approach to service delivery and effectively communicates with our customers on requests and incidents.
• Strong conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
• Team players will work closely in a team environment.
• Experience with MS Access database preferred
• Knowledge of operations and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center environment.
• Has an understanding of high voltage filtered systems including UPS, PDU, transformer, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of CRAC systems, chilled and air-cooled systems.
• Advanced knowledge of generators.
• Knowledge of local building codes, fire codes, and regulations to help ensure compliance
