Jacobs is looking for an ITS Network Administrator to join our collaborative team in Ocoee, FL. You'll upgrade, configure, and install networking gear to include routers, switches and firewalls and possess networking knowledge of single and multimode fiber optic networks. The network administrator shares the responsibility to maintain a data / video network that supports an Incident Management System 24/7, 365 days a year. This position requires the network administrator to deploy related assets along roadways managed, maintained and operated by the Florida Turnpike Enterprise. The candidate must have experience with Layer 2 & 3 network protocols. In addition to proven networking technical skills, the Network Administrator must possess excellent communications skills. On call 24/7 duties are part of the job.

In this role you'll also:

• Provide hands-on network administration support, network maintenance and operations support.
• Recommend networking software and hardware enhancements.
• Build, configure, and troubleshoot local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), virtual local area network (VLAN) and other company networks.
• Possess knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, PIM, IGMP, VRRP, etc.
• Diagnose and correct network systems issues.
• Utilize software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
• Administer LAN/WAN security and malware control measures.
• Build operational Operations and Maintenance (O&M) checklists to maintain the service (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly O&M checklists); build Tactics, Techniques and Processes (TTPs) and Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) associated with service checklists.
• Monitoring LAN/WAN-related systems to proactively identify performance and operational issues.
• Document and implement approved configuration changes.
• Manage access control lists and networking equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on network-related components and equipment.

• Associates degree in information technology, computer science, or other relevant fields, with a minimum of 4 years of networking experience
• Professional certification(s), such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent, or able to obtain certification within 12 months of hire
• Physical ability to walk construction sites and work outdoors under varying weather conditions
• Ability to be assigned On-Call status
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Valid driver's license with no major infractions

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Bachelor's degree information technology, computer science, or other relevant fields
• Ability to keep up to date with various new technology and related certification coming into the marketplace, as determined appropriate by management.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

The work area can involve a working environment indoors, as well as, outdoors which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals. Safety is of the utmost importance. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.

Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination when preparing reports and using a computer keyboard, have vision sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents and operate office equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour time period must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
