Masters Data Technology team with Architecture and Data Science Division is at the forefront of building BNY Strategic Reference Data Platforms Initial Focus on the initiative is to stand up Client, Account, Product, Reference and Security Master.

The Masters Technology team is looking for a motivated Tech Lead with hands on experience in building enterprise wide technology solutions. Candidate is expected to be operating under the guidance of Tech Delivery Manager however is expected to be self-starter and operate with an ownership mentality. Candidate will be individual contributor working part of the Overall Technology Delivery team. He/ She is expected to mentor summer interns and junior developers and grow into Principal Developer role over time. Candidate must be Agile Practitioner.

Qualifications

The Engineer will possess:

• 8+ Java Development / Spring (Batch/Integration) experience at a Financial Firm (preferred)
• Strong Analytical Skills, Able to comprehend and dissect a problem
• Must have strong deductive reasoning & diagnostic problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, fast learner, willing to go outside of comfort zone and learn new things.

Core Skills

• Hands on Java Technologist with Reference Data Background
• Extensive experience in Spring Batch Framework, Spark, Kafka Streaming Solutions
• Reference Data Domain Knowledge preferred
• Ability to synthesize business, functional requirements and design solution
• Design and Implement Rest APIs
• Prior experience in Sprint Boot (micro services) framework.
• Angular, Bootstrap, HTML 5, CSS, NodeJS
• Experience in front end testing frameworks like Jasmine and Karma
• Prior Experience in working across regions and cross functional teams
• Partner with QA/Ops/Client teams in supporting QA/UAT initiatives
• Experience with source control systems such as GIT, and Team Foundation Server (TFS).
• Knowledge in various branching/merging methodologies and release procedures.
• Experience with continuous integration build engines, such as Jenkins, Cruise Control, etc.
• Experience with IT automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.
• Experience with container technology such as Docker, and CoreOS RKT (Rocket)
• Exposure to Agile development processes and tools such as Confluence, JIRA, and Kanban.
• Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Bash, batch, etc.) and familiarity with Windows, Linux (RHEL preferred) and Unix.
• Experience with databases both relational (Oracle, MSSQL) and non-relational (NoSQL, HBase)
• Experience in release engineering, configuration management, software development or related discipline.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering (based on a BS or MS in CS, or equivalent experience)

• Anjali joined BNY 3 years, enterprise master data management team, leading the produ t master group.
• Enterprise dat management- Master data management- golden source for BNY use, of all accounts, horizontally across the organization. Building out more masters, that list accounts and products. Consolidating all data withing the organization and then giving them to whoever asks for them. Distributing that data to the downstream. They support the applications on this masters list
• All the data sources go into Anjali's application, product data only. They make it pretty and give it to whoever is asking it.
• All the teams have the same underlying framework(Java, angular, big data). Talk to them and they find out, microservices, data interactions, all spring based . Java 11, Application design, senior. Anjali gives them the ticket and they should know what they do. .
• Lot of churn in resources. New shift in location strategy, 3 days onsite. She has a hard time getting full time resources. Talent pool is in NYC or West coast.

• Mentor junior level resources
• Focusing mainly on technology skills.
• Had an app owner that resigned last year, since last year trying to find opening. She shortlisted 2 people, but they took other positions at BNY Mellon
• Looking for just java sme, spring boot, spring batch, kafka messageing oracle
• Pittsburgh is preferred, lake mary is second option
• Relocations are fine
• Shares resources with reggie, interacts with raja, Saurabh, Parvesh jain, and jian
• Will be using LPS
• Open to HR, has 2 ivs next, otherwise exclusive
• Will begin process for beeline on MONDAY
