This is a full-time position on a product development team. Our software engineers are problem solvers with curious minds and a passion for writing code. They work with industry and product design authorities to address the sophisticated challenges of healthcare. As a software engineer, you will be primarily responsible for analyzing requirements, writing, and testing code, researching, designing, solving and improving software products and services. Job Title: Senior Software Java Engineer External Facing Job Title

Role : Internal External Facing Role

Essential Functions:
• Write code, participate in code reviews and solve any issues with root cause analysis
• Look for ways to refactor and improve code
• Actively engage and chip in to grooming product features
• Collaborate and interact effectively within a team
• Provide constructive feedback for process improvements
• Take ownership and be accountable for assigned work

Qualifications:

Education : BS in Computer Science or related major. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be taken into consideration in lieu of a degree.

Required Experience:
• Proven experience of min 5+ years in software development
• Possess strong ability to tackle complex problems creatively and provide technical analysis
• Programming experience with Java EE
• An understanding of object oriented programming
• Structured Query Language and relational database modeling
• Knowledge of web application development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Understanding of continuous integration development practice

Desired Experience:
• Agile Scrum and/or Scaled Agile experience (SAFe)
• Git, TFS or other similar source control tools
• Spring, Hibernate frameworks
• Microservice-based architectures
• Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies

Behavioral Competencies:
• Collaborate and interact effectively and harmoniously with the team
• Be engaged and actively contribute to planning and continuous improvement discussions
• Critical thinking skills to analyze a situation and estimate effort
• Always learning and sharing with team members
• Handle time efficiently to prioritize and accomplish work tasks

Technical Competencies:
• Java EE, object oriented programming, SQL, Relational Database modeling, JavaScript, HTML and CSS

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until May 30 th 2024.

The annual salary for this position is between $80K- $113K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
