UPMC is hiring a Full-time, Journeyman 1- Electrician to support the office in Harrisburg.

Since this position is in Harrisburg, you MUST have a Journeyman's license for the City of Harrisburg.

Candidate would also need to have experience working in either a hospital or commercial environment.

You will need to provide your own hand tools, UPMC will provide power tools and specialty tools.

Schedule is Mon.-Fri. 7am-3:30pm

On-call rotation, that will be discussed during interview.

Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the safe operation and maintenance of the hospital's electrical systems and equipment including generators, fire alarm, overhead paging system and nurse call.
  • Inspect and test lighting, signal communication, control and power circuits and equipment.
  • Install new wiring and electrical machinery.
  • Isolate and repair/replace defective wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas.
  • Operate and maintain switchgear and electrical machinery.
  • Perform all work following infection control procedures.
  • Record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis.
  • Repair and/or install conduit, fittings, motors, generators transformers, electrical wiring and a variety of appliances and hospital equipment.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Trade school or trade specific multi-discipline certificate required.
  • Military experience considered.
  • 2 years' experience as an Electrician working in a healthcare or commercial building environment required.
    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Act 34
