Pay: This is a full time hourly/non-exempt position. Pay may vary depending on your location, skills, and experience.

Location/Travel Requirements: 100% traveling position throughout the Mid-West

Job Summary
\n
Work will consist of installations, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, and associated materials and equipment within the high voltage transmission and substation electrical industry. Perform duties necessary to complete assigned task under the direct supervision of Project Supervisor
\n
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
\n

\n
• Accurately organize materials and tools in order to maintain clean and neat work area.
\n
• Assist in various job duties as directed.
\n
• Ability to quickly learn functions of the jobs.
\n
• Ability to install switchgear and its terminations.
\n
• Ability to install all sizes of conduit that will ensure timely installations.
\n
• Ability to learn equipment operations (crane, flatbed truck, trailer, forklift, aerial lift)
\n
• Ability to use hand tools. (i.e., pliers, hammer, crescent wrench, side cutters, channel locks, screwdriver).
\n
• Must be able to safely use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders and KO punches.
\n
• Work from all types of aerial lifts and operate lifts as necessary in a safe manner.
\n
• Perform work at various heights upwards to 120 feet from various means (aerial lift or climbing).
\n
• Accurately read labels, job site maps/directions, instruction manuals and written instructions.
\n
• Employee must have ability to acquire / maintain personal hand tools and other tools necessary for this position (scare strap, tool pouch, nut bag and high-top boots) as directed.
\n
• Analyze test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems, or to evaluate effects of system modifications.
\n
• Open and close switches to isolate defective relays, performing adjustments or repairs.
\n
• Repairing and Maintaining Electronic Equipment - Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.

Qualifications & Skills
\n
Required:
\n

\n
• High School graduate or G.E.D.
\n
• CDL Class A required
\n
• Previous electrical line/substation and / or construction experience is required.
\n
• Department of Labor Certification for Substation Technician
\n

\n
Preferred:
\n

\n
• Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
\n
• Analytical Thinking - Job requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
\n
