You will also have access to our comprehensive benefits and competitive pay in addition to growth opportunities and excellent retirement options.Job Summary:Akima Systems Engineering (ASE)is seeking a Journeyman Strategic Communications lead to support and enhance the organization's communication efforts, understanding, awareness, and demand signal for capabilities across the entirety of Department of Defense (DoD). The Journeyman Strategic Communications lead is responsible for developing strategic communications products to support Government objectives and goals. This role supports the coordination with senior leaders and stakeholders across the DoD.The ideal candidate will have experience developing strategic communications, an understanding of learning management technology and user experience techniques.To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!ResponsibilitiesJob Responsibilities:
  • Develop, plan and execute strategic communication efforts to include communications plans and productsaligned with Government goals and objectives.
  • Develop themes, materials, displays, presentations, information packets, and events as required to implement an annual Strategic Communications Plan.
  • Develop high-quality content, including press releases, speeches, articles, social media posts, and other communication materials.
  • Support the execution of events and communication efforts to promote initiatives, products, or services, measuring their effectiveness and impact.
  • Oversee and guide a team of communication professionals to develop high-quality materials.
  • Craft written and verbal presentations at the Flag Officer/General Officer and senior civilian level.
  • Coordinate with Joint Staff strategic communications specialists and customers to develop understanding of requirements and customer focus.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with "user experience" (UX) development, processes, techniques, and procedures.
  • Experience with and understanding of DoD organization,structure, ranks, processes, procedures, and administrative methods.
  • Experience developing communications to senior DoD leadership.
  • Experience using distributed education technology, social media, and web-based information systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with learning management technology and the ability to extrapolate areas for inclusion of new and evolving technology.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • TS Clearance with SCI Eligibility
  • Joint Staff or Joint duty experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with eLearning and curriculum and courseware authoring for web-based training and education development.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems.
