Leidos is hiring an early career Jr. Budget Analyst to support our Modernization Program for our National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) customer. This individual will support the Federal Program Manager (FPM), Senior Budget Analyst, and Program Engineers. The individual will assist in the Office budget, reporting, and communicating practices. The work performed is broad in scope and preference is for an individual with demonstrated program/budget analysis knowledge, Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs) activities, or an individual with other relevant background with a willingness and aptitude to learn the budget and program.

The individual must be self-starting, possess an ability to work in a highly dynamic environment, and have an ability to interface with a broad range of federal and military staff and leadership. This requires coordinating with FPMs and Engineers, Program Managers at the NNSA National Labs and nuclear weapon production facilities, and other program/budget analysts to prepare supporting inputs for budget documentation, program briefings, program reports, draft work authorizations, MIPRs, and approved funding program documentation.

This is a full-time contractor-support position located on-site at the NNSA offices in Albuquerque, NM.

Roles/Responsibilities:
  • Serves as support to senior budget analyst, Project Engineers, and the Defense Programs budgeting system.
  • Provides input to programmatic monthly, quarterly, and end-of-year project reports for use by Project Lead Engineers.
  • Tracks and maintains status of all program MIPRs.
  • Provides regular status of the MIPR portfolio to and informs Federal staff (e.g., Federal Program Manager [FPM]) on status, issues, challenges, and needed Federal actions.
  • Analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on budgetary issues.
  • Develops input to monthly updates of program status briefings, using data provided by NNSA systems and laboratory/production plants.
  • Supports Program Office senior budget analyst, analyzes reports on results, and tracks action items on technical projects undertaken by the national security laboratories and nuclear weapon production facilities in nuclear weapon component development.
  • Provides program management support in the preparation, coordination, evaluation, review and analysis of program execution plans and tracking, monitoring, and reporting of program-specific milestones and updates of annual performance measures.
  • Provides input to budget and program information in excel, budget database etc., and extract that information as necessary for budgets, briefings, reports, etc.

Required Education, Experience & Other:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2+ years of relevant program/budget analysis experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in developing briefings for senior and executive management required.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite with particular emphasis on word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel) required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
  • U.S. Citizen.

  • Active DoD Top Secret or Active DOE Q clearance

Salary Range for this position: $78K to $85K

Pay Range: Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
