Junior Staff Accountant


Reports to: Controller
Location: San Dimas, CA
Job Type: Full-Time / In-House Pay Rate: $20 to $23/hour

Job Summary:


The Junior Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day accounting operations, including recording transactions, maintaining financial records, and preparing reports. In addition, the Junior Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the accounting department by handling a variety of accounting tasks under the supervision of senior accountants or controller.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Record Transactions: Accurately record and classify financial transactions for day-to-day activities.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Assist in processing invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and accounts receivable collections.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Assist in preparation of monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, including posting journal entries.
  • Audit Support: Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.
  • Data Entry: Perform data entry tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Assist in the preparation of various ad hoc financial analyses as required.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the accounting department, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents.


Qualifications:


  • Education: High School Diploma or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or working towards a degree).
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ethics: High degree of professionalism and integrity.
