Job Duties

The Virginia IT Agency (VITA) helps ensure the Commonwealth of Virginia provides a safe, secure technology environment enabling state agencies to accomplish their respective missions. The Commonwealth Security & Risk Management (CSRM) Directorate of VITA oversees the technology environment and in doing so, offers significant benefits to agencies of the commonwealth.

CSRM is currently seeking a Junior IT Security Auditor to help conduct risk-based IT Security Audits for agencies electing to use VITA's Centralized IT Security Audit Service. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn about, support, and help protect many operations within the commonwealth. We are seeking a colleague to join us as we solve challenges that directly impact the citizens of Virginia.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) and/or the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing Standards (Red Book).

Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand, analyze and draw appropriate conclusions from audit evidence.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Highest levels of integrity.

Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and professionalism with a results-oriented work style.

Additional Considerations

Prior job experience as an Auditor, preferably an IT Auditor.

Information technology experience or education.

Knowledge of NIST 800-53 or COV Security Standard SEC530.
