Position Summary

Position Summary:

This position manages the day-to-day activities with assigned key accounts, while identifying new programs for material development and qualification. They will also be responsible for gathering market and competitive intelligence and generating new business to meet annual sales goals. The incumbent is tasked with the development and growth of new and existing relationships at all levels of the specified customer's organization including but not limited to supply chain, technology and program management.

This position is a remote position and is located in the San Francisco, CA area.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
  • Generate, manage, grow and expand sales within the target area of business focus.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customer and internal functions, such as but not limited to customer service, logistics, manufacturing, product/program management, quality, supply chain planning and technology.
  • Gather relevant information through interactions with customers, potential customers, distributors, development partners, industry representatives, consultants and others as necessary.
  • Develop new market/business development programs.
  • Ensure that market-customer opportunities are translated into terms (product applications) which become meaningful targets for development.
  • Leverage the unique Parker EMG (Engineered Materials Group) products/applications to develop new growth areas for the Parker EMG portfolio.
  • Act as initial technical support point of contact for designated customer.
  • Perform all functions in accordance with Parker EMG safety guidelines. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Competently represent Parker EMG in complex negotiations.
  • Travel, up to 30-40%

  • Proven track record of identification, evaluation and commercialization of new business opportunities.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal communication, persuasion, influencing, analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage many projects simultaneously with good project management, organization, planning and strong leadership skills.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on winning new business as specified customer. Adaptability to new technology.
  • Customer Expert (External contacts/well connected) internal relationships.
  • High level of probing skills/value proposition development.
  • No fear and experience with overcoming/learning from failure (perseverance).
  • Passion for growth.
  • High level of leadership skills and influencing/persuasive skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and ever-changing needs of designated customer. Ability to \"think on your feet\" accurately and quickly.
  • High level of agility (stability/disciplined/focus + dynamic attitude) and maturity.
  • High level of being a self-starter.

Qualifications:
  • BS/BA (or equivalent) in relevant field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in business development and/or sales/marketing in relevant industries.
  • Direct experience in sales and business development preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Business Intelligence programs.
  • Technical competency and understanding of adhesives and their applications.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Solid knowledge of MS office suite tools.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: \$97,863 annually to \$157,990 annually.
